PAX - The Nike Praegnans is a symbol of Victory, but also of Freedom in a world characterised by contradictions and wars. Nike renews its representation and symbolises Peace.
In 2023, for the first time Omar Hassan exhibited the sculpture during “PUNCTUM” his first solo show at Royal Palace in Palermo, with more than 306 thousand visitors from all over the world. PAX is a bold reinterpretation of the Nike of Samothrace, ‘expecting’. She exalts Peace.
Now Omar Hassan has chosen to create for the first time a special edition of the work PAX to collect in the form of lithography, a unique and numbered piece, for a total of 300 works of art.
"Pax, or Nike Praegnans, was an important operation on which I reflect for many years, remained in the drawer, waiting to find a place to expose and celebrate it. I believe that Victory can generate Peace. We must not forget that the Goddess Nike is a symbol of Victory, but also of Freedom. In the contemporary world the aspect for which Victory must generate Peace must be marked. As if to say that Art, in its highest expressions, emphasizes and acquires further and new strong meanings".
